The 110 adaptor plug is an awkward shape. I think it should be more “short and wide” then “long and narrow”. When plugged into a high socket, the weight of the plug and wire make it difficult to keep a strong connection. The manual is very clear: no extension cords. That said, the specs on that extension cord (at least the conductors) are rated correctly.

I have a 25 ft extension cord and have used it to plug into a 110v outlet. It has to be heavy gauged wiring. A standard extension cord has wire strands that are too small and the car will essentially detect this and not allow the car to charge.
